My Unwritten Hubs
66Unlike others who are prolific writers, the best I can claim to be is a prolific title writer. I churn out possible subjects to be written about at mind-boggling speed. Unfortunately, I am also remarkably slow at producing complete pieces. My modus operandi is very simple. I mull over an idea and produce a title. Then I write a bit and like a cow chewing cud, I mull some more. This process can take a year or longer before some flash of inspiration (or more effectively a kick on my backside), forces me to write and put a punto final to it.
At this time, I have some twenty unwritten pieces. The good thing is I am a Jack of you know what, so there is a lot of variety in the things I haven’t yet written about.
Here are some of the ones I think will make interesting reading.
Are We Becoming Too Dependent on Gadgets
This Hub is about how our lives today are controlled by four devices—the mobile phone, the laptop, the automobile and the TV. I could be virtually (and physically), anywhere in the world—on a beach in Goa or a mountaintop in the Himalayas—and no one would be any the wiser. Until someone notices the suntan, that is.
A Little Bit of Management
If you were given the choice to select the two most important things to manage in life, what would they be? Your family? Your relationships? Your work? That is the question this Hub tries to answer.
My Little Say on Keeping Alzheimer’s at Bay
One dear relative and a close friend fell to this dreaded disease. This Hub, when complete, will contain a lot of information on Alzheimer’s and will help Hubbers to take steps to prevent it.
A Coffeehouse in Palestine 1900
Tea Comes To England
What Will It Be, Coffee or Tea
I read somewhere that coffee requires much more water for cultivation than tea before that cup reaches your lips. The history of both beverages is fascinating going back as it does to the 9th century for coffee and earlier as far as tea is concerned. And who can forget the importance of the Boston Tea Party?
Diversification or Back to the Knitting
There is no right or wrong in the business world. What should organizations do strategically? Stay with the knitting or follow a policy of diversify or die? To diversify or not to diversify, that is the question.
Festivals Celebrated in India That Strengthen Family Ties
Some of the most colourful and riotous festivals in the world are held in India where they play a major role in strengthening family bonds. Festivals like Raksha Bandhan (the Bond of Protection) highlight the bond between brother and sister. Holi must rank among the most colourful in the world and Diwali among the noisiest.
If Bosses Were Hosses
In a long career span, an employee can expect to have all kinds of bosses. This Hub looks at some bosses with whom I crossed paths and sometimes crossed swords.
Is the Orgasm Something to Write Home About
Most of the great treatises on sex have come from the East, the Kamasutra from India and Taoism from China. The Big O is treated quite differently depending on which side of the world one comes from.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
What would a world without glass have been like? What if you couldn’t see yourself, unless you happened to live near a placid blue lake? A look at the world of glass and mirrors.
Music as a Mirror of Society–A Study of the Sixties and Seventies
Every generation thinks it is the with-it gen. But for people like me who grew up in the ‘60s and ‘70s with Elvis and the Beatles and flower power, the music of that time was something else. This Hub will examine how music reflects society’s changing moods.
Perhaps I Should Write about Pubic Hair and Not Climate Change
Well, isn’t that what every sane person would do? After all, pubic hair design evokes more comment than learned treatises on climate change. Or does it?
Ten Days at Kandbari
This was to be a series on a holiday in the hills of North India. Perhaps I should have said serie because it stopped at one.
To Write Or Not To Write
Well, there you have it. My Top Unfinished, Unwritten Hubs. I haven’t a clue whether I am unique in my ability to not deliver the coup de grace to my Hubs. Perhaps I should consider submitting my brain to science for study.
And if you are going to a temple or a church, say a little prayer for me, fellow Hubber as I sally forth once again to add more titles with ease and struggle to complete the unfinished ones.
Oh and by the way, feel free to treat these ideas as your own. After all, great ideas are meant to be shared, aren’t they?

hi Sabu!
You are priceless! You certainly know how to tickle a funnybone :)
You certainly have a good foundation for what I feel will become absolutely wonderful hubs. Each title with its brief intro had me laughing. I so look forward to seeing all of these published. The world can do with your tongue-in-cheek and laughter, not to mention valuable information. I also agree with lovelypaper, this hub is truly unique!
Thanks so much for sharing :) And, get busy! :)
HoHo! You are not alone, Sabu. Do you think all of us who suffer from Unfinished Hub Syndrome (UHS) should toss our titles into a hat, shake them up, and then pick at random? Now let me think about that...maybe each author's titles should be written on a different color of paper so that you don't pick your own title just to be tortured again.
You've got some very nice ideas here. Thank you for your generosity!
Hi Sabu - how on earth did I miss this? Must have been during the time when I wasn't getting any mail from HP. What a super hub - only you could do it. Well, look forward to all those being finished and up :)
I came over from De Greek's latest hub in which he quoted you. Now that I'm here I can't imagine how I didn't know about you and your wonderful hubs earlier! Even "hubs yet to be written" is a masterpiece of wordsmithery. (If "wordsmithery" isn't a word, it should be...) Can't decide which of them I'm looking forward to the most - they're all so tantalizing!
Wish I had your gift for titles, tho. Content for a hub or blog post is never a problem, but many times I have no idea what the title should be until it's finished.
This is a wonderful Hub and I am definitely suffering from UHS - the disease Sally identified above. My list of Unwritten Hubs at this time is two pages long! LOL! Will I ever get time to write them all?
Thanks for sharing the dilemma.
Love and peace
Tony
I can relate to this hub.
You have some great Titles waiting to be wrapped up in some great content. So get to work my friend so your loyal Hub friends can read another masterpiece :-)
Please :-)
Hi Sabu. I can understand the problems! When I first started writing I thought I'd try my hand at a long novel (I got as far as three chapters before worrying it wasn't good enough). Then I tried a play (I wrote about ten pages and then gave up). Then I tried a 15 minute radio short story (and still couldn't finish it). With me it's the discipline and confidence required to spend so much time writing without any guarantee of publication which is the problem.
At least on HubPages you can be guaranteed publication, which is why I am now trying to pursue my 'career' here! Like you I've had some great ideas for storylines, but getting them written down is difficult.
The only tip I can offer to anyone who has trouble completing a hub is to have several in production at the same time, so if you get writer's block or whatever, you can always turn to another easier subject. One hub I'm currently writing has been in production for several months and it's still not finished, because I've found it so difficult and complex (it's about the geology of planet Venus) and I keep going back to it even sometimes to write a single sentence when I feel able. I've visited this unpublished hub and added to it more than 200 times so far. However, I've started and finished several other pages in the meantime, so the important point is, I have managed to keep publishing.

This is a unique kind of hub. I hope you get to complete some of these. Best of Luck.
